Now TV as alternative to sky stream

hi does anyone have any advice or experience on whether now TV is better than or equal to sky stream for sports?

Per previous threads ive had sky stream for only a few days, i am only really interested in watching football and the 2 games ive watched so far have been beset with issues; liverpool leeds practically unwatchable (echoing comments from many on here), then liverpool inter likewise rubish fixed by switching to my laptop at half time.

Is NOw TV any better (assuming can use the laptop to stream)

Does Now TV have the 'catch up' functioinality like the stream puck as in can i start watching a sky sports football match 30mins late and watch from the start or can you only watch a pure live stream?

It's a hard question to answer as it depends what you are after e.g. UHD etc etc. and that all is dependent on what device you watch on.

Ive not had NowTV for many years, but you used to be you had to wait for the content to become available post game if joining part way through. Hopefully someone may be able to confirm.

Sky stream suffered a documented outage last night. However I find the service usually quite stable. However there any many variable factors that can impact it.

Depending on the device you're using to access NOW, all live channels have a 'watch from the start' button so you can join a programme part way through and restart it.

The advantages of using NOW instead of Sky Stream include that you don't have to subscribe to Sky Essential TV or Ultimate to access the sports channels.   But if you want to watch the content at 1080p or 4K, you have to buy an additional boost membership at £6 for HD or £9pm for 4K HDR on top of the Sports Membership.   With Stream HD is standard.

NOW is also offering longer term memberships for slightly cheaper prices, but you're tied into a longer term membership with NOW.
