Logitech Harmony Ultimate remote and Sky Stream issues

Hi Sky people,

 

I'm really looking for help from another Sky Stream user that uses the same Harmony Hub and Ultimate remote that I have.


I've just switched from Virgin to Sky Stream and the Stream remote mapping/functionality is dreadful. Lots of lag, mis-clicks and several key buttons not working at all.


I struggled to get the Sky Stream in to Harmony but did eventually by pressing buttons 4 and 6 to get into IR mode and the use 'Sky' as the make and 'Stream' as the model as it didn't recognise the model number. Now the button settings provided only work intermittently. I have re-mapped most of the buttons in the Harmony remote map image to functions provided by the settings given for the Sky Stream in Harmony but I can't find a suitable function to go back and I have selected both BACK and EXIT but neither work.

 

I am also experiencing horrendous lag, often resulting in double or treble clicks ending up in menu options not wanted. I am at the stage now where I power on using the Harmony remote and then have to switch over to the Stream remote for everything else...unless I want to mute the sound or change sound volume, or switch to the Samsung TV.

So anyone with the same or similar set up that has advice, tips or an answer please do get in touch.

@PaulB1956  I have mine set under Sky Stream, which gives the same commands, I've not had to programme any buttons as they main ones all works under setting up Sky Stream as a device

Thanks for the response - appreciated.

 

So maybe I need to start over - I'll set up the Sky Stream again as a new device and change nothing and get back to you.

 

In the mean time what button is used as the Sky Stream + button on the Harmony Ultimate remote?

 

And what button on the Harmony is the BACK button?

@PaulB1956 Button next to mute the Arrow looping back is the back button,  to add somethng to the playlist on the harmony remote I normally just go to the programme/film on the main screen, select it the scroll to the  + add to playlist option.

Hello again GD1,

 

I am almost there but have fallen short with a couple of buttons.

 

I created a new device using Sky and Stream followed by a new activity that powers on the Samsung TV, the Pioneer AV and the Sky puck. Every button works with two exceptions:

 

1. The PAUSE button and

2. The PLAY button.

 

I've also tried manually fixing that by remapping both buttons but both show a big green tick and will not allow me to re-train it. Even if I specify a new and unused name, like Test pause, it starts with a tick and no ability to re-train.

 

Any ideas?

@PaulB1956 The only way I've got it to work is press the outer wheel "left" button then the "OK" Button which does both Pause & Play on the remote.

The outer wheel left and the OK button hack...kind of works but it's very fiddly. Doesn't always work and/or you get the wrong outcome because of a second or double click.

 

But thanks never the less. You've been a great help.

What we really need is for Sky people to talk to Logitech Harmony people and get 100% accurate IR codes .... shall we hold our breath?!?!? 😂

Logitech stopped making Harmony remotes years ago and they actually ended support for the Harmony remote software in May this year so I think the chances of Sky Stream codes being added are probably less than zero. 

When I used my Harmony Elite remote with a Stream puck a couple of years ago I actually used the Sky Q remote codes - it allowed all the main remote functions to work apart from the + for add to playlist.
