Re: Lip Sync issues - Sky Stream
I just change channel without going to the tv guide. Just press up or down on the remote to change channel then go back to the channel with the issue and it fixes it. That worked for me but I've now set the settings to Passthrough which seems to have fixed it.

Re: Lip Sync issues - Sky Stream
The bottom line with all of this is...
Sky are aware of the issue but will not attempt to rectify it?
Can someone please explain why an advert can have lip-sync issues?
The last (temporary?) fix was a software update? Is this likely to be a hardware issue too?
I'm kind of fed up with the sub-standard service provided which seems to affect people randomly despite the hardware being "the same". I can't get out of my Glass contract yet but I'm counting the days.
I'd sacrifice any other functionality of Sky Glass in order to have no lip sync issues. It's just destroyed the enjoyment of watching a program. Somebody senior at Sky needs to take heed of what's happening and address it as a priority. I'm paying for a service which does not deliver.

Re: Lip Sync issues - Sky Stream
Annoyingly but very acceptably the Sky News and Sky Go apps on Apple TV 4K has absolutely NO lip sync issues.
The downside is that you need to buy the Apple TV 4K and maintain a Sky subscription.
PS; I have 2 Apple HomePods as my home cinema.

Re: Lip Sync issues - Sky Stream
Unfortunately the lip sync was out again when I switched over to BBC 1 tonight. So Passthrough hasn't made any difference. I'll have to try PCM Stereo but other than that a quick change of channel and back again seems to fix it.

Sync
Voice and character sometimes out of sync by up to a second. Can be improved by turning off and restarting. But this happens at least once a day. Help please. This is on my sky glass but doesn't seem to happen on the puck I have in my bedroom.

Re: Sync
@AGH24 This is currently under investigation by Sky. It happened to me this evening whilst watching live BBC1. I find that a simple rewind for a couple of seconds and then pressing the remote back button to resume live broadcast puts it back in sync.
Give it a try next time it happens as it's quicker than turning off and back on again 😀

Re: Lip Sync issues - Sky Stream
@Johnny811 I had the same with BBC1 during the 6pm news broadcast this evening. I fixed it by a couple of seconds of rewind and then the back button on the remote to get live broadcast again. This usually fixes the problem but next time I will give your solution a try.

Re: Lip Sync issues - Sky Stream
I've not tried that but changing the channel and then back again seems to be the fastest way 👍

Glad it's under investigation.
Ive also found issues with lip sync on the new U app for U Gold etc. turned over on the live U Gold channel to see a Dad's army episode had started that I didn't remember seeing before, so I clicked on the watch from beginning which opened the U app and played it from the beginning but it was horribly out of sync. Even though the live broadcast was perfectly in sync.
I've also found if I watch back a program on Sky News from the Sky apps the sync isn't great and the image is juddery despite both these things being fine on live broadcast. I tried the reduce judder for apps in settings but it made no difference. Quite a few problems ongoing at the moment it seems.

Thanks for the feedback @Fothergill1 I hope you don't mind me asking but how do you know Sky are investigating this issue, have they posted something somewhere?

Hi @BC1956 No problem, I don't mind at all. The new lip sync issue has been subject of discussion on the closed Superusers forum and Sky have confirmed they are aware and are looking into the matter.
Hopefully they will be able to resolve it quicker than the last time it occurred 🤞

Re: Lip Sync issues - Sky Stream
First thing, I've not read all 44 pages.
I have had a Stream puck for maybe week or two. I've noticed lip sync issues on a few channels. I've managed to get it back in sync (so far) by flicking the channel down and up (or up and down) with the round navigation button.
However, I should not have to do this and I'm surprised it works thus far.

Re: Lip Sync issues - Sky Stream
That's exactly what I do. It only takes a second but we shouldn't have to do it.
