Re: Lip Sync issues - Sky Stream

I'm still on 34...not holding my breath for 35, or 36 - they seem to be poking around with a stick and hoping they hit something.

Re: Lip Sync issues - Sky Stream

It seems to me that most of us on here are just venting our frustration at Sky's inability to provide everyone with a decent service.   We may feel better after a good vent but are we getting anywhere?  Does anyone in the Sky management team read any of our problems on this forum?  I suspect the answer is no.  Maybe the best thing is if you have a deadlock letter from Sky or have an unsatisfied complaint for 8 weeks or so, that you follow Sky's own advice and contact CISAS.  CISAS will decide if you have a legitimate complaint and Sky then has about two weeks to respond by way of compensation or by fixing your problem which they have admitted that they cannot.  In this way at least we will be doing something positive. It worked for me as I received £250 compensation from Sky - it might not be the perfect solution but at least Sky had to sit up and take notice.

Re: Lip Sync issues - Sky Stream

Hi @charliedawg That is great advice and really appreciated, but unfortunately for most of us we don't have the time or patience to go through the initial and very painful experience of having to deal with Sky's customer service to get to a point were we can take it to CISAS, I think Sky are relying on this! I moved from Virgin because of their poor service, but this (Sky) is even worse. I think this proves a point

Re: Lip Sync issues - Sky Stream

I agree with this approach - you'd be surprised how having to sign off a compensation claim - no matter how small - can make organisations squirm up to senior levels. It's never about the money, it's about the process they need to go through, and who they have to tell the story to.

An email to the CEO always works wonders in my experience.

One thing though - having worked in senior roles in tech and retail for a long time - I can pretty much guarantee that Sky DO read this, and senior management will be aware.

Re: Lip Sync issues - Sky Stream

Hi @MattCray appreciate the quick reply do you have a CEO email address you can post? ...... Something that I am really surprised about is the Press have not picked up on this. I have posted on social media to the press and there has been no pick up, I also include Sky in these posts but the posts never appear on their sites

Also just to pick up on something that was commented on earlier today in this discussion on whether or not Sky look at these posts. Earlier today my Trustpilot review attachment on a number of my posts (not just on this discussion) have been deleted and I have posts going back for sometime redacted. So Sky do look at these posts but chose not to reply/comment/action

Re: Problem with sound not syncing with lips.

Switched to PCM and this solved the lip sync issue but sound quality has suffered slightly.

Come on Sky, all the money we all pay every month, get your act together and sort this out!

Re: Lip Sync issues - Sky Stream

Audio drop out, lip sync issues, no sound on apps requiring a puck restart. Sky needs to sort its stuff out.

Re: Lip Sync issues - Sky Stream

Strange - I've been on Build: QSE036.016.00P for a few weeks and today my puck has been 'updated' to QS035.016.00P

A step back or perhaps the E in QSE meant Evaluation 🤔

@Paul+Dray  A guess would be that you were rolled back in preparation for the latest software QS036.019.00P (NB - no E) which started rolling out the night before last.

Re: Lip Sync issues - Sky Stream

I've been watching cricket and rugby today (Sky and TNT sports), and the audio is about 1/2 a second behind the video. Its obvious when the ball hits the bat or boot, or the refere blows his whistle. I've tried PCM and Passthrough as well as DD and DD+ and nothing sorts it.

I've had this a bit in the past buts it really bad now. My amp has an lip synch adjustment, but I think that just delays aduio as normally lip-synch problems are a lag in the video not audio.

@kdp99  If you haven't already tried it, the next time you notice the lip sync id out simply flit to another channel and back again to your original programme.
