Re: Image quality on Netflix August 2025
still having to restart my Sky stream just to watch Netflix? It's been going on for ages, and frankly, it's getting ridiculous. It really makes me wonder about their software development. And don't even get me started on the sound issues with my soundbar I've been waiting for a fix for over a year! If this is the best they can do, why would anyone consider their other produc

Re: Image quality on Netflix August 2025
I have tried the reset through settings multiple time with no success.
The software fix has not worked on my puck.

Re: Image quality on Netflix August 2025
Begs the question why sky 'technical support' , and I use that term
loosely, don't know about the issue? Would've saved me an hour on the phone with them trying all sorts of pointless resets if they just said 'it's not the puck, it's us'

Re: Image quality on Netflix August 2025
Can someone please post a picture of what this issue does to the Netflix image? I'm curious to see what it looks like to see if it helps with diagnosis.
Nobody has said yet if it's affecting everyone on all Netflix tiers. The usually positive Superusers have gone a bit quiet on the subject. Are they experiencing it too?

Re: Image quality on Netflix August 2025
It's just very heavily pixelated - like (for those of us old enough to remember) trying to watch a video being downloaded on a 56k modem - almost as if something within the puck software is seriously throttling the bandwidth.
im still having the issues every day myself. The reset from the system menu trick seems to work for now but if that stops working Netflix will be unwatchable via the puck.
given all other sources are fine - smart Tv, fire stick, PS5, phone there is no question it is the puck software.
I know there are no official sky devs or employees on here but this must be a serious issue - as there are already 10 pages of issues on this thread alone.
it does make a mockery when a free, low tech on board streaming tool such as those pre loaded in any smart tv, can stream Netflix without issue but we get the privilege of paying sky hundreds of pounds each year for a completely sub-standard experience, which their tech support seem either completely unaware of or unable to advise on.
Sky needs to do a whole lot better, and dare I say it, they should now be thinking about offering compensation to those of us affected.
I doubt that will happen but there you go.

Re: Image quality on Netflix August 2025
And I'm on the premium tier - to answer that question.
I don't believe the subscription level matters at all to this issue.

I'm still getting this issue, despite resetting my puck.

Re: Image quality on Netflix August 2025
Odd, isn't it. Like others in this thread I can watch Netflix with no issue on my Samsung tv. Picture quality is only an issue when streaming through the Sky Puck - which would tend to put an "X" on where the problem is. I find it very strange that while Sky acknowledges there is an issue that they are working on, they are quite happy taking money from customers for a service they are not currently providing to an acceptable level.
Odd.

Odd.
I think Sky would probably argue that because it's a third party app which can be easily accessed on smart tv's and other streaming devices, it's not really an issue that's going to warrant extensive and immediate 24/7 action in order to find a fix.
The majority of SkyOS is functioning, so it's not really an issue worthy of refunds in any way shape or form. Netflix is bundled with even the most basic subscription so it would be hard to offer a specific sum anyway.

Re: Image quality on Netflix August 2025
Thanks for those of you having the issue and who are reporting it's worked or not worked since the fix update on the 11th.
Sky will see this.
But I have made them aware that the fix has not solved the issue for some of you in our Superusers closed forum area.
So watch here for further updates
I've not had the problem Myself with either of my Sky Stream pucks.
I am a regular Netflix most days watcher.
I feel your pain...
Especially when you are using your Sky Stream puck for adding to playlist, continue watching and searching to watching for Netflix content through it.
Sky Stream with two pucks (Former Sky Q and Sky+ customer), Sky Ultrafast + using Sky SR203 hub. Sky Protect kit tester.

Re: Image quality on Netflix August 2025
That is correct, and I would not anticipate that Sky would act - but at the end of the day they are providing a sub standard service and a poor customer experience.
Clearly if this easily fixable it would have been fixed by now. If it was a problem caused by a patch then they could always roll it back instead of fixing forward.
However given the comments on this thread I suspect it is not straightforward. Not all users impacted, some users have multiple pucks where one is impacted and the other isn't.
So I suspect the tech team are frantically trying to establish root cause and struggling to identify that.
All we can do is wait.

Re: Image quality on Netflix August 2025
I too am experiencing this issue.
I'm on the top tier to get 4K streaming. I've noticed that after I reboot the puck, I get the option to watch in 4K in Netflix (if it exists for that show) no problem. But if the puck goes into standby, or I leave Netflix and re-enter later, the pixelation starts and the max resolution the app offers is an HD stream of shows that I've been watching in 4K. To get the 4K streams back I have to - you guessed it! - reboot the puck.
If Ieave and re-enter the whole merry-go-round starts again.
I can accept to a point that Sky aren't Netflix, but as I'm paying via Sky for at least part of my Netflix subscription, to watch it on a platform that markets itself as being an integrated platform, I expect the service to work the majority of the time. I'm not expecting 100% but I'm expecting at least some degree of consistent service provision.
This really isn't good enough from either service provider.

Re: Image quality on Netflix August 2025
This issue is still happening, I have restarted the puck, signed out of Netflix and it works for one session but once the app is off or the tv/puck off and then turned back on it is back to pixilated viewing, as per previous poster, amazon, disney ect all fine only Netflix through sky is the issue, on mobile app it is fine.
