Does Sky have a hidden netflix charge in the subscription?
When I signed up for sky stream I was able to get the netflix premium for 8.99 which as gone down from 15.99 per month when subscribing which is a difference of 7 quid.
I'm confused on this is sky subsidising 7 quid of the netflix subscription for people who add it on or is it hidden in the sky entertainment package price or do they have a deal with netflix to provide it at the 8.99 price.
Would hate to think Sky are inflating the price of the entertainment price? I think would be a sharp business practice if so.

Most TV providers now include Netflix Basic in their base packages and you can upgrade to Premium for a small fee. The fee is normally the difference between Netflix Standard and Netflix Premium.
I think this move is initiated by Netflix to avoid churn and boost their subscriber numbers otherwise they'd be hemorrhaging customers.
Sky etc will be getting Netflix basic at a heavily discounted rate I'd imagine.

@Nigelb1972 it removes the ability to switch Netflix on/off as desired ... a small discount in return for guaranteed longer term income😉

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreNetflix desperately needs subscriber numbers to placate its investors: allowing partners to bundle a subscription at a lower rate is one way to do this.
Unfortunately the absence of the 'Extra Member' feature in bundled packages can reduce the value of the combination, and it's interesting that 'Basic' no longer exists directly from Netflix themselves.
