How do I watch tv shows/films after I have logged onto HBO now it only says to start streaming on HBO MAX get access through sky.com why can't I watch on my tv?

You have to activate the HBO account first using a Sky system, ie the HBO App in your Sky Stream/Q/TV.

Once that's done, then yes you can sign in using your TV's built-in HBO App, using the account created during the Sky sign-up process, and use that in the future.
