Re: HBO MAX
All this has done has shown me how little Sky content I actually watch and prompted me to cancel my Sky Stream. I know it's not Sky's fault directly, but dressing up HBO Max as an upgrade is a bit silly! I'm sure there are many casual viewers happy to watch in 1080p with ads, but it makes no financial sense for me to keep Sky Stream any longer.

Is it possible to undo (deactivate) HBOMax and go back to On demand and sky atlantic to view shows such as the Sopranos?

No. Those shows aren't on Sky anymore. Sky's rights expired and WBD put them on their own App (HBO).

It's reported all over that content originally aired on Sky Atlantic would continue to be available there - but does that only refer to ongoing releases and not the catalogue?
That was always my understanding of it. New series of shows that have aired on Sky Atlantic will continue to air on Sky Atlantic.
Brand new shows (ie never shown on Sky) will be exclusive to HBO Max.
Back catalog of older/finished shows have moved to HBO Max.
Obviously, as owners, WBD can do want they want with their own content now that the long-standing exclusivity deal with Sky has ended.

Sky should add more NBCU back catalogue series to Sky One, Sky Witness and Sky Atlantic or even add Breaking Bad from Sony like Sky Atlantic in Italy did in mid January

Re: HBO MAX
Same with Sky Comedy - I was watching Curb Your Enthusiasm, but now I have to watch it on HBO Max. A typical episode has 7 minutes of ads!

Re: HBO MAX
It's not possible. I followed Sky's guidance to deactivate apps, and it doesn't work for HBO Max. Frustratingly it seems onne you've activated it, you're stuck with it.

Hi
I cannot activate HBO max. I have the sky ultimate package and MySky says HBO max is already mine.
However when I click on Activate HBO max it invites me to choose my subscription. Basic with ads is shown as Current, but there is no further option to activate the service.
This is now day 3 of not being able to do this, no options available on MySky either

Just don't use it if you don't want to. But it's the only place to watch the majority of HBO shows.

@r4rosswhen I activated mine it did this for a good few hours. Have you linked your account with your email?
I could bypasss that screen by going in via the app in all drawer rather than one of the huge adverts for it.
also had to force a restart of the box. (Unplug power for a few seconds)

Thanks for reply.
Got exactly the same screens from app drawer version, however, when used voice to say hbo max, it took me to the correct page to create an account get codes etc.
So anyone stuck not getting any options other than changing to a dearer sub, try using the voice button on the remote and say hbo max.
