HBO Max crashing Puck
We're trying to watch The Pitt on HBO and it keeps buffering and then completely crashing the puck... Anyone else had this issue?
And no, it isn't a bandwidth or connection issue before anyone suggests a speed test via the Netflix app...

Re: HBO Max crashing Puck
Try refreshing all apps then restart the puck.

Sounds form your posts you have tried most things.
Do recognise your id on here as a long term Sky user.
From what we have seen and heard, apart from the activation and TNT Sports activation issues with all the recent app additions, not seeing any kind of regular reports of HBO playing content issues.
Does this crash around an advert showing?
Some apps, like the Paramount+ app that have those kinds of advert glitches, tend often to get fixed with a broadband router/hub restart with the Sky Stream puck in standby and then an apps refresh.
As you may have seen previous mentions, we have been told that for some types of apps and the way the refresh for Stream/Glass works, it can take some time, so is why it's suggested mentioning the 24 hours to fully complete for an apps refresh.

Re: HBO Max crashing Puck
@lettice it randomly happened twice during The Pitt and hasn't happened when watching anything else. We've got HBO Premium so no adverts but the first time it all just stopped and locked up, second time it was as if it was buffering with the spinning disk thingy and then crashed. It was really unusual as it crashed and caused the whole puck to lock up and could only be cleared by pulling the power lead out...

Re: HBO Max crashing Puck
I'm having the same trouble sometimes when watching Eurphoria. Freezes and when I come out no other app plays. The box can't even perform a reboot because that action freezes too. Have to pull the plug. Just happened a few minutes ago. Only happens in the HBO app.

Re: HBO Max crashing Puck
Happened a couple more times recently. No other app is doing this. It's a pain ☹️

Re: HBO Max
Mine does too. There is already a post about this but don't know how to link to it. It is a pain because you have to pull the plug every time

Re: HBO Max crashing Puck
Is this still happening for you?
Ive played several series episodes on HBO Max, including The Pitt each day this week and not seen any problem with play out or with the ads.
I have noticed that Paramount+ has the green screen with sound back this last week sometimes when playing the ads.
I'm sure the advertisers would not be happy.

Re: HBO Max crashing Puck
@lettice it was fine when we binged that last 3 or 4 episodes of season 1 so could have been a temporary glitch..

Re: HBO Max crashing Puck
I haven't actually watched anything on HBO this week yet. I don't have problems with any ads as we pay the premium subscription. I will check back in when I come to watch something and see if it crashes.
