Disney Plus - Error 83

Looking for some help. My brother has a Sky Glass TV, very recently paid off. He has been assured that all apps etc should remain functional even though it has been paid off.

 

For the past 2 days he's unable to watch anything on Disney+. He can open the app, select a show, but after a few seconds it returns a black screen with "Something went wrong. Please try again later (error code 83)".

 

He's been on a support chat with Disney, no luck.

 

I've been troubleshooting today. Here's what we've triee:

 

-Restarting the TV

-Power cycling the tv

-Restarting the router

-Refreshing apps

-Signing out of Disney+ and then back in

-Signing into a DIFFERENT Disney+ account on the same tv (same error)

-Signing into his Disney+ account on a different device (no error)

 

What has been advised that we cannot try:

-Clearing cache - not an option available on this model

-Uninstalling and reinstalling Disney+ - not an option available on this model

 

So the common denominator is that Disney+ no longer works on this TV, no matter what account is signed in. Previously it has worked fine for 2-3 years.

Hi @OceanDan 

 

It's likely an issue with he connectivity check that the Disney app does. Given that the Disney App is supported on Glass. I would try powering of your glass, power off your router for at least 5 mins as well as the ONT if fiber, power the router on and then glass once connected to the internet again.

Hi, unfortunately we have also tried that when power cycling the tv. We have also connected the sky glass to a mobile hotspot rather than the wifi, which also experienced the same issue.

Do the other apps work, or is it Just Disney+?

Other apps work fine. Disney+ previously worked fine but is now consistently experiencing this error.

I wonder if this is related to the issues Stream is having with some of the apps. There appears to be an issue when the ads are inserted. As a video on Disney starts with ads, this could be the same problem.
