Hello,
I currently have BT TV, but I am considering paying to get out of my contract early and moving to Sky Stream or Glass. I have autism and ADHD, and am struggling with the BT TV user interface. Not in terms of navigation, but I find it difficult to keep track of what I am watching and what I'd like to watch across the different streaming services. Multiple watchlists within the apps are difficult for me to keep track of.
I understand with the Playlist on Sky Stream/Glass, I will be able to add programmes from all my subscribed streaming services to the Playlist and then they are all in one place.
I just wanted to check whether I am understanding this correctly please?
Thanks for your help.
David

You are understanding correctly how the Glass/Stream interface works.
It is, however, not entirely reliable. The playlist and Continue Watching options can sometimes not fully track progress in a series so be aware that it's still a bit glitchy.
You can trial Stream or Glass for 31 days to see if it works for you then return for a full refund if it doesn't.

@dorsetcc1 I've moved from BT TV to Sky Stream within the last few days and I love it. It's really easy to use and set up and the interface is miles ahead of BT TV. I was lucky because for some reason I had AMC included in my BT TV pack and because they removed this channel (that I never watched btw) they sent me an email saying that I could leave early without penalty.
The playlist facility seems to work as it should and the deep integration of Netflix etc is brilliant. The picture quality also seems better even on TNT UHD. We're on 130mbps G-Fast and Streams start almost instantly with zero buffering or drops in picture quality...

Thank you both for your replies.
It sounds like the Playlist will hopefully work well for me.
@Nigelb1972 I saw on the BT Community Forum that some customers were receiving the email about the removal of AMC and got excited about the prospect of leaving penalty free! Unfortunately, as I'm on one of the newer packages, I haven't got that option. 😞 The penalties to leave BT Broadband and TV at the moment are £433 for me, but I saw that Sky credit up to £200 of cancellation fees when switching, so if I manage to get a decent deal with Sky, I might be able to recoup that cost and get the benefit of the Sky UI.
Now I just need to decide whether Sky Glass or Stream will be right for me!

Sky glass freezes on a regular basis. Worst thing I did is getting rid of Sky Q.

@dorsetcc1 from what I've read about Sky Glass and it being effectively locked down to Sky and pretty useless if you cancel your subscription, I'd go for Stream and buy a new TV if you need one.... And that was probably me on the BT Forum 😆
I got Ultimate TV pack with UHD add on, full sports, cinema and multi-room with an extra hub for £76. And get Netflix, Paramount+ and Discovery+ included... Best BT could offer was £73 for VIP...
From what I understand, UHD on Ultimate also gives me Netflix in UHD which is saving another £8 per month... So all in I've wiped about £25 a month off my TV package and got a much better package with full Sky in our main bedroom 👌

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreAs I said on your thread on the BT community @dorsetcc1 , Sky are the only ones that have got close to getting the holy grail of a single playlist tracking content across multiple services working.
It is not perfect, but it is light years ahead of the BT TV UX. Stream and your own TV over Glass all day long if you go down this route, too many compromises otherwise.
I suspect @Nigelb1972 had the VIP pack on BT since it came out, hence he is one of the few allowed to leave penalty free with AMC going. He has earned it!

@dorsetcc1 I did. I had VIP pretty much from launch and I thought I recognised you from the BT forums 👍

Thank you all for your replies!
@Nigelb1972 and @stereohaven , you'll probably see this on my post in the BT community as well 😂🙈, but I've taken the advice about Glass vs Stream onboard and have ordered Sky Stream and Broadband this evening. 😃
Managed to get a decent deal through Quidco, Stream £23 a month and Broadband £16 a month. £95 cash back, £70 gift voucher and Sky will credit my account with £200 towards the BT cancellation fees.
Really looking forward to trying it!
