Re: Add skipping

Sky insert adverts at the beginning and middle of most on demand programmes.  I like to rewatch the sopranos (old programme too) and the adverts are quite annoying.

I use voice control in my remote and say "skip 3 minutes" works a treat

Ads are what make TV companies money. That's why you have to pay to be able to skip them.

Hi @Jayrus73

Ad skipping is exactly that it gives you the ability to fast forward the ads. It doesn't remove them. Details of how it works is published here: https://www.sky.com/help/articles/ad-skipping-sky-glass

It is annoying given that on NowTV paying removes the ads but this a decision Sky has made for Glass / Stream.

Re: Add skipping

It's literally called Ad Skipping and not No Ads.. They really couldn't be any clearer..

Sky would have to compensate a lot of channels to remove their ads🤔

@Exiled-in-HH  they could remove adds for Sky content and allow skipping for others as now or introduce a tiered system. Clearly some commercial viability given on Now. Talking on demand here nothing else.

Re: Add skipping

I have paid to skip adds but I still have to watch unless I press fast forward. What did I pay for. Could do the same if I recorded a series!!

Not on Glass/Stream you couldn't, because it doesn't 'record'

Effectively what's happening is commercial channels, content rights holders and distribution platform owners are taking back the control which the PVR era temporarily removed from them.

Re: Add skipping

@Jayrus73  being able to fast forward is the skipping?

Then you have to explain why some content have no ads and other do😉
