Iv just joined sky and went to set up sky store as I was told I was vip and couldn't claim a free movie. However as soon as I try to do it on the sky glass TV it won't let me go any further till I add a debit card. Strange since I thought the service itself was free and you only pay if you rent or buy something. Anyway I proceed to enter my details and it wants to take £10 out of my account. This is where I am confused. What is this charge for? And why am I paying it just to get sky store to open on the TV can anyone shed any light on this please?

I suppose it could be some sort of pre approval trial type of transaction (to make sure the card is yours) but not something I've heard of- If someone on here has experienced this I'm sure they will say.
just make sure you are on the genuine Skystore account and if it were me I'd be clarifying this with the Skystore team
live chat should still be open

Find out moreI have heard of £1 being taken and then returned when doing something like changing adult settings on Sky Mobile but have never heard of this for Sky Store so as @mike+simmonds has said I would get in touch with Sky Store support perhaps via the live chat to see if they can shed some light on what this is.

must just be a pre order trial transaction to test your card.

That would make sense as they should also refund it in the same way they would for Sky Mobile customers as I mentioned earlier.
