you do not have Internet connection

My Sky Q box is giving me the following message: It looks like you do not have Internet connection right now. If you're already set-up we'll keep trying to connect. If you have changed your Internet password or router you need to reconnect to your network. Go to settings and check your network connection status to reset. Internet is working fine on all orher devices in the home. Has been like this since yesterday I have tried resetting but says it can't find a connection.  I am not on Sky broadband but have a Sky router connected to a splitter. Has been working fine up to now!  Any help appreciated.

What is a splitter in this context?

Sky routers are not normally configurable to use a different ISP's login (and I think remain the property of Sky when you cancel like the Q boxes) so I'm not clear how this is set up.

Re: you do not have Internet connection

Do a quick search on here and you'll find countless posts about this.

I had the issue occassionally until I recently switched from Sky Broadband to Fibrus.  Fibrus provided me with a new set of eero routers to create a Wifi6e network that has thus far been better than my previous Sky setup in every single way - every way excpet one: Sky Q connectivity.  Since then - and most recently in the last couple of days - my Sky box keeps telling me I don't have an internet connection when every other device in the house tells me I do.  Only Sky Q is affected.

The 'fix' (and I can't even call it that because it doesn't fix anything every time) is to power off the Q box, then reset the wifi connection to my router (which forces me each time to reenter the wifi password...).  Sometimes it works for a while, most of the time it doesn't.  I've come to the conclusion that the instability appears to be more frequent when I'm trying to download something (new episodes for example), so I'm 100% confident the issue is the Sky Q box end and not the internet/broadband/wifi router end.

Seems the general consensus is that this is a Sky Q hardware issue with Mesh/Wifi6e/non-Sky routers/something - no one seems to really be sure.

I've an engineer coming next Friday to look at it.

Re: you do not have Internet connection

Thanks for this.....after the 4th attempt at a reset it's back working.....no idea how/why and how long it will stay, who knows! Definitely something around them not liking non-sky equipment!

Re: you do not have Internet connection

It takes my VF broadband and pushes it through a sky router (installed by Sky engineer) so that Sky thinks it's Sky equipment....I'm not a techy so don't ask me how! Miraculously after 4th attempt at reset has resolved itself...not sure how...let's see how long for!
