The back of any Sky Q box has the sockets coloured with their relevant colours.

The power lead is the blue cable and goes into the blue marked socket on the back of the box.

as shown as an example in this help article on tab 2;

There is no blue socket in the back of my new box to plug in the mains cable. Is it hidden in the newer models? I've looked everywhere!

Is there a circular multi-pin socket inside an orange circle between the USB and HDMI sockets?

If so then it's a v2 main Q box, which is the one that doesn't have a blue IEC C7 socket.

Instead, it has an external transformer (which does use the blue plug)

Re: where does the cable with blue end plug in

Thanks! I worked it out in the end. I didn't get all the equipment I needed. Hopefully, it'll all arrive tomorrow..

There have been a few posts where Sky has shipped a refurbished v2 main Q box without its separate (but necessary) external power supply unit: this is presumably due to a glitch somewhere in the logistics system.
