Why has Sky removed series links from programmes?
Why did Sky drop 'series links' on programmes?
Plus new series which were previously 'series linked' have not been picked up by Sky... We have missed out on so many.
Getting fed-up of having to trawl through programmes each week to set record. Happening on old & new programmes.
Updates should be improving our experience, not causing frustation again and again.
Seriously thinking of cancelling our subscription...as certainly not being pushed into more costs for a much reduced service.

They haven't.
Any examples?

Hi @Kugaman Are you sure that you are setting them up correctly. We really need an example to see if there is a problem. If you want to you can contact viewer relations to highlight the particular programmes that don't have series links. [email protected]

Re: Why has Sky removed series links from programmes?
I often find series links on SkyQ do NOT carry over from one season to another - and I do find they they can stop working if there is a gap of more than a week between episodes.
It isn't they are removing them - it is the broadcaster failing to provide them correctly.
I also find my BBC1 series links occasional move into Scotland - I'm in England.

Re: Why has Sky removed series links from programmes?
These issues are sometimes caused by the channel owner if it's not owned by Sky. A recent example of this was Hudson and Rex on U&Alibi with the channel being owned by BBC Studios. After an email to Viewer Relations it was rectified.

Re: Why has Sky removed series links from programmes?
Yes they did. I called into Sky Shop and they were aware of the issue and even the programmes affected. No remedy offered.

I believe it is a creating a ruse to charge us extra to continue using our favourite channels.

The daily news at same time every day! The series link was stopped and is not available anymore. That is after months of finding same issue with various programmes particularly new ones!!!

Where are you being charged, or likely to be charged extra?

Series link is working perfectly on all the programmes I've got set up, and I've no idea why you think there's any additional charge associated with "favourite channels"???

Re: Why has Sky removed series links from programmes?
I have experienced this - in a random fashion, on occasions. It seems to be possibly related to either a) schedule interruption e.g. soccer match in the usual programme slot (e.g ITV soap slot bumped by some soccer match = as a priority viewing) and then due to the slot block - link block occurs or b) new season on channel that was the same but changed name e.g. 'U' channel which was UKTV play

Re: Why has Sky removed series links from programmes?
I had some series links randomly fail to renew over the last couple of months. Mostly stuff on Sky Sports - live Premier League football and F1. A couple of longstanding links on ITV were unaffected. I figured that Sky had broken them on the backend by changing their program ids or something. MIldly annoying, but not as annoying as waking up to a crashed box every morning.
