Which WiFi network should my network connect to?
Hi, I have been having issues with my mini box retaining its connection with my main Q box. The mini is connected via WiFi.
It seems to disconnect 2 or 3 times a day for any duration between 5 minutes to an hour, trying to reboot does not help. It eventually solves itself out.
I was told by a Sky engineer that the signal between the two box was a bit weak, so he installed a booster box. The booster box is wired in via ethernet cable. Unfortunately, we can't get a wired connection through to the mini box.
On the mini box, the WiFi netwok it's connected to is my BT connection (network name under status does not start with Sky***) I was under the impression that the Sky Q box creates a Sky mesh and ensures it boxes all connects to the sky mesh instead of a Non-sky internet.
And last question, is there a way to tell whether my mini box is connected to the sky booster or the main box? The reason is because adding the booster makes no difference to the quality of the connection.
Thanks.

Re: Which WiFi network should my network connect to?
I have BT Gigabit Full FIbre. Pretty sure my setup mirrors yours. Apart from the booster. I have a 2Tb SIlver UHD box and 3 minis in a 3-storey townhouse.
What I've done is connected my main 2Tb box to the BT router, it will only connect via the 2.4Ghz protocol. Once you have a connection on the main box, this becomes the "link to the internet" for the minis.
Unplug your minis and follow this Sky Q Mini Recovery Process
Switch the Sky Q Mini box off at the mains.
Hold down the Reset button on the back of the Sky Q Mini box and switch it back on at the mains.
Keep holding it until the light on the front flashes red and green. This will take about 30 seconds.
Once it flashes red and green, press the standby button on the front of the box.
If the lights don't show after 30 seconds, repeat steps 1 to 2.
The box will then restart.
After the on-screen messages have disappeared, press Home on your Sky Q remote to switch your box back on.
Best of luck.

Re: Which WiFi network should my network connect to?
Thanks, it sounds as though it's similar to my setup.
A quick one, on your mini boxes, under the network name, is it the BT network or the Sky***** network you see?
it seems as though you have your main box connected to BT via WiFi. I have my main box connected via ethernet as it's in the same room as the BT router. Not sure if it makes any difference l, but will give you suggestion a try.
