When returning a mini box dies it have a serial number

I have changed to sky glass and need to return my main bov and mini box.

The box is fine as i only have one but i have a couple of mini boxes in the house which were bought off ebay.

Do i need to retun the correct mini box or will anyone of them do.

cheers

hi @Tich
Mm.

Certainly not wise to buy minis as they all belong to Sky and are only rented to subscribers for the duration of their subscription.

Therfore any for sale are potentially stolen from Sky.

Sky will know the serial number of the Box you were were renting but now it is not connected you will not know which one it is.

@Tich

The mini box you 'bought' off eBay is stolen property I'm afraid.

I can't say with 100% certainty but I am pretty sure that SKY will only accept the one(s) sent to you.

Any bought off ebay should have been returned by the original users and were not legally for sale & still owned by SKY

@Tich I suggest you return the correct Sky Q Mini box  registered on your account if the correct mini box is not returned you could end up paying an non return fee

The thing is they will test the box and if the serial number doesn't match you could be charged for not returning the correct one if done intentionally going by your post.

Also when the returns packaging is sent to you it has a packing list with the Sky Q boxes and serial numbers which you need to return.

@Tich you could just decide to send all 3 mini boxes back to Sky then they would definately get the correct one.

The other mini boxes are no use to you and you would be breaking the law if you were planning on trying to sell the mini boxes anyway

@Tich if you are referring to me I am not a Sky employee have never been a Sky employee and am a customer like yourself giving some sensible advice

As all Sky Q equipment is owned by Sky if you sell any of it on, you could be liable for prosecution as you are selling stolen equipment.

Fair comment @Tich but the choice is yours  Sky can charge you a non return fee

I'm sure it will make a difference if the incorrect box is returned mentioning that you brought on ebay won't go in your favour either.
