Viewing card replacement

Had a few error messages saying insert sky viewing card correctly - turn off and back on would fix it for a few hours. Contacted sky and advised needed new viewing card which will dispatched between 3-5 day! Great i thought until I went to watch sky and can't because my viewing card is no longer active. 

spoke to a guy at sky who was most unhelpful who advised there is nothing he can do as the cards been cancelled and we have to wait until the new one is recieved. So I am left without tv for god knows how many days until the new card arrives! 

this to me seems crazy!! Surely there has got to be a better way of doing this sky???

 

anyone else experienced this?

When it arrives (and hopefully works) ask Sky to apply a credit for the lost period.

I am just another Sky customer and my views are my own even if you don't like the answers
