Viewing card not Active

Our viewing card kept on coming up as not active, so 2 weeks ago we asked for a replacement, we were told we would receive one 2 to 7 days. Not received one as of yet. The card that we had carried on working. Yesterday my husband rang Sky to ask where the replacement was, and apparently they had not sent one out, so the woman said she would get one sent out to us, then our sky went off, she had deactivated the card and apparently she could not turn it back on, so no TV, I then looked on some forums which gave instructions on how to re activate & pair with my Sky box, which worked. Today the card was deactivated again so we did what we did yesterday but to no avail, so husband phoned up and was told it could not be turned back on once it was deactivated, and a new card would be anywhere up to 7 days.

Is this correct, my husband at the moment is housebound and we have 3 great grandkids who we have a couple of times a week, god knows what we are going to do with them as weather is not the best to take them out in.

We have been a customer of Sky for over 30 years and we got the impression that they dont give a dam as long as they get their money each month. We are going to see how long it takes to get this card and also see what virgin have to offer. Has anyone any ideas and can they knock you off, our bill is always paid on time if not there is always money over on the account.

@Rockie1 afraid you will more than likely have to wait for the new card to arrive it will be send by royal mail. My brother-in-law had a similiar problem where he needed a new card and Sky de-activated the card he had so he had to wait until the new card arrived before he could get Sky back

His was different circumstaces but it appears if they de-activate the viewing card you have to wait for the new card to arrive

I may be a Sky Superuser but I am still just a Sky customer

Re: Viewing card not Active

Hi

Thanks for your reply, yep no TV for up to 7 days, hopefully not. Mind you its all repeats and you can always watch something later if you miss it earlier. All Sky is doing is replaying things over & over again, new films are getting less, they keep changing channels giving them new names trying to make out you are getting more, was a lot better years ago.

Will just wait for the card to turn up but we are going to look around at Virgin and what others do similar to Sky as I dont think there is much difference in price,
