@GazeruthThat is not actually true with the latest Q update you can now use Q boxes as hot points even if you don't have Sky broadband.

Go into settings > network > advanced settings and you can turn it on.

@bob1234 Just checking on the Sky Q main box and Mini boxes - the only option I have in Advanced Settings is to set a manual IP address rather than get an allocated one - is there a newer version of the software on the boxes I need to download?

It doesn't enable 5GHz hotspot (per my title) just 2.4GHz. With 2.4G boosters I have pings of 1000ms or higher, and speeds that are pretty abysmal. They give me 6ms ping and 73Mbps on 5GHz which sky do not natively support hence I posted this. No issues to date.
