I am unable to view my recorded CSI - i can watch it when when it's on TV - I was viewing it last week but now Sky want me upgrade but I've always been able to watch CSI recordings

you probably just need to change your download preference to SD
Main Menu -> Settings -> Setup -> Preferences

That would only affect downloads, not recordings.

in which case I suggest you try a power down restart:
Use the remote to place it into standby mode
Then remove the power to it (either switch off at mains or remove the power plug)
Wait at least 30s
Then re-apply the power & wait for it to fully restart - this may take a few minutes.
