Hi All, so I would like a quite basic upgrade to my current sky mini. Its 2024 everything is 4K and UHD. So question is can I get a mini box that supports 2024 now? let me know if anybody has any good ideas, or perhaps another Q box to replace the current mini?

Afraid a UHD mini is never going to happen.
You could consider changing from Q to Sky Stream.
All Sky Stream pucks are 4K UHD capable.

Important to remember that Q was released in early 2016 as the final platform from Sky as an independent company with its heritage in satellite television. In late 2018 Sky became an overseas division of the Comcast Corporation which has always been at heart a cable television company, and Stream is a Comcast product.
Incidentally one reason a UHD Mini has never emerged is the topology of the platform means this would require a new and more powerful model of main Q box as well. The last main box iteration was released in late 2019 (after the change in ownership but presumably in development before then)
In addition, HD resolution means the current Mini box can get away with a bare handful of Mbs connectivity back to the main Q box: a UHD Mini would require more like 25Mbs as a minimum, and I suspect Sky telemetry harvesting told them that this would be a major problem in customer support.

The Q system only supports one main (UHD capable) box at an address. As I mentioned above it's now approaching nine years old as a platform, and was specified for the consumer environment of that era.
