Tv keeps going black screen

Hi 

Had sky out on Thursday & he found a fault which he changed sky dish sky box & main output leads since then my TV keeps flickering black screen every now & then only lasts for seconds ?

Sorry 

Yes I still need help with the screen keep going off blank?  

A sky engineer mentioned about the hdmi lead from TV to sky box but they are ok , I called sky for someone to come out then cancelled as a sky engineer talked me through things to do on the remote ? But unfortunately it still is doing the blank screen its so frustrating as we've had problems now for the last 3 weeks

To be honest I don't, but had sky engineer out last Thursday he changed my sky box & new leads & dish , since then my TV has started to go blank??

I have same problem as do a number of other users as I did a search - mine has not had anything done to it but this problem has been happening for last few weeks but was just every now and again and now multiple times an hour

 

have done a box reset as another post suggested (sky recommendation) today so am waiting to see if any better or whether it's time to call sky

 

Fyi I have changed the hdmi cable as have a few very HQ cables and it made no difference

No has not cured it - just went black screen - looks like a call to Sky needee

It's becoming a blady joke this will be the 3rd time an engineer has come out & we can't watch Netflix cos it turns itself off 😕 it's getting more & more frequent!!

Hmm sounds a bit much of a coincidence, but I would still try a new hdmi cable because it's easy and the most likely cause of the screen blanking.

Hang on, does this only happen when in Netflix?

No it is constantly going off when watching normal TV

We tried Netflix as fed up with the TV keep going blank but it does it no matter what your watching!

Same - all channels and recorded/live and apps - just had box swapped out and it's still does it so clearly a software issue - another sound drop out situation from a year or two ago where Sky never accepted responsibility despite hundreds of reports and always blamed cables/TVs etc then suddenly it was fixed!!!!

If it was a software issue (unless only triggered in very specific contexts) you'd think everyone would have the problem.

As I stated this is similar to the sound dropouts from a year or two ago - not everyone had them or noticed them but a significant number of sky q users reported the issue

 

the same is starting to appear now - watching a program for an hour and 5 or 6 drop outs all lasting 2-10 seconds is not acceptable and clearly users are now starting to report this problem (there are a number of threads here and on Reddit etc)
