Switching to Sky Q

I've brought a Sky Q Box but it says there is no satalite signal when I set it up. I have had to put my Sky + box back on and the satalite signal is ok.

@DJB365Oh dear it will never work, there is no problem with your dish it just needs the LNB in the dish changing then neither box will work. As the stolen Q box will have been blocked by Sky anyway.

HOWEVER if I have misunderstood you and you got the box sent from Sky and they have mucked the order up phone them to install it as you will have paid them to do it.

Hi @DJB365   You cannot buy Sky Q boxes as they are all owned by Sky and loaned free to Sky Q subscribers for an admin fee. If you can, I would return it for a full refund. You have bought a plastic brick that will never work without a Sky Q subscription and a Sky Q viewing card. Your LNB would also need to be changed to wideband.

Hi @DJB365 Unfortunately if you have brought a SKYQ box from anyone other than SKY then it will not work, SKYQ boxes belong to SKY so you have purchased stolen hardware.

If you want to upgrade from SKY+ to SKYQ you will need to call SKY and change your subscription.

They will then send an engineer out with a legitimate SKYQ box, and make changes to your SKY dish in order for you to recieve SKYQ content.

All SKY equipment is loaned to customers and has to be returned when a subscription is terminated.
