Sport via sky Q

New LG oled purchased but sports not as clear as old plasma.

Guy un currys says I need to upgrade from Q to streaming?

That would be unusal - it would indicate a setup issue with the LG.   My LG (a rather aging 65CX5) produces an amazing picture on HD and UHD source.

 

Plasma's were generally bright but quite low resolution.

It may be worth playing with the TV's settings - I think that sometimes 'out of the box' modes can be a bit fierce with some of the processing 

 

One thing if you don't subscribe to UHD (i.e. only watch HD cannels etc) then probably best to set the resolution on the SKY Q box to 1080 not 2160 as the TV is likely to upscale better than older SKY Q box  (Plasma TVs of course were only HD)

Yup, the LG default settings can be a bit 'overpowering'.  I run mine in film maker mode as I found frame interpolation artefacts annoying.

@Mick56B in addition to @nigea99 post do you have hdmi ultra hd deep color set to on in the settings as you need this on to get HDR when watching in UHD
