SkyQ vs Sky minibox remote codes.

I have just updated my amp to the Denon AVR-S770H, but on the minibox there is no code to control the volume. There is however a code for the Denon AVR-S760H on the main Q box. How do I see what the code is, and will it work on the minibox.

I am not 100% sure I understand what you have tried etc. 

SKY Q  does not use numerical codes like SKY HD did

I  always advise people to just select the Manufacturer & then use the find it for me option, as more often than not,  the first codes it tries work.

It is also worth noting that many maufacturers use the same codes between similar models so you may be able to type in a specific model that is similar without needing to type your specific model.

Edit : BTW I don't think you should see any difference between the mini & main box when setting up the remote

That's the issue the minibox and the main box has different lists. Maybe need some kind of minibox update, I'll look next time I'm on.

Checked the minibox, and the software matched the main Q box. Carried out an update anyway, but no change. There is a difference between the list of devices manufacturer and model number selection between the Q box and the minibox.

A better option (if possible) would be to use eARC.

Then pair your remote with the TV and volume commands will be passed through to the amp over HDMI.

More information to add into the mix:-

I have 1 main Q box and 4 x mini boxes and all 5 boxes have the same software version.

3 x minibox controls (no obvious model number inside) will change channel on main box but give the reduced amplifier model number list.

1 x minibox controller (EC201) will not change the main box channel without some setup I guess, but does give the same extended amplifier model list.

The 4 mini boxes do have slightly different hardware model numbers, 2 off the 32D005 and 2 of the 32D008. Not the issue.

I took the EC201 and reconfigured it with the minibox I wanted to control the Denon amp with. This gave me access to the extended model list, and from there the Amplifier setup was straight forward. 

I then setup the (unknown model) controller with the other minibox, including tv control, no issues.

Everything is now working. Guess I should get new EC201 controllers to replace the (unknown ones) at some point.

Glad you have got it sorted - I would never have guessed problems with older controllers

Are they the original minibox non bluetooth controllers ? (no voice button )

Yes, no voice control on the unknown version ones. 

Never actually noticed the EC201 had voice controls. Just checked and it does. 😊
