Sky q box conection with 2nd mini box

Just need some help connecting 2nd mini box to q box ,it's saying technical issues when I go onto TV guide ,I'm not on sky broadband, when I go onto status of the minibox it has a tick on connection to sky q box and a tick on connection to Internet, I have done a software update on the minibox but that didn't help, the minibox is in my garage about 10 metres from the other minibox and 13metres from q box  ,any ideas ?

Hi @Dale14

Assume it's connected by WiFi.

It it's currently connected to the main Q box try connecting it to the other mini.

To connect it carry out a Network Reset on the mini.
Network Reset found in mini Home - Settings - Setup - Network.
Highlight Status and then select Reset on the right hand side. Follow instructions to connect by WPS.
You will be asked to press the WPS button on the nearest Q device so use the other connected mini (not the mini you are trying to connect as the Network reset will start the mini WPS automatically).

Failing all of the above you may need a Sky Q WiFi Booster to position midway between your main Q box and the mini and you will need to contact Sky directly.

@Dale14,

Booster still works even without Sky Broadband,

It will boost the sky q mesh

Hi @Dale14

First you would need to connect the booster to the main Q box using WPS on both devices.

Once it is connected then you need to carry out a Network Reset on the mini.

Network Reset found in mini Home - Settings - Setup - Network.
Highlight Status and then select Reset on the right hand side. Follow instructions to WPS with Booster
You will be asked to press the WPS button on the booster  (not the mini as the Network reset will start the mini WPS automatically).

If necessary you could connect the booster by WPS to the other mini (instead of the main box) if it gives you less distance and a better connection.
