Sky q 1tb box

Hi

we have the old style sky q box which is 1tb. (Main box)

We now have 3 sky q mini boxes but only 1 will work at any one time.

Am I right in thinking we need the 2tb for the boxes to work at the same time?

Thank you!!

hi @Jameslenny

Yes the older non UHD box - Hardware version 32Cxxx  is the one that only supports 1 mini

You can use a maximum of 2 minis at the same time for SKY content - Satellite/Recording with all  newer boxes (including a 1TB UHD box) -  although you can have up to 4 on the account

You may be able to use more at the same time if the first ones in use are only being used for Streaming apps such as Netflix or Disney+

Thank you Nige!

Will sky supply a new main box FOC as a replacement for the old 1tb?

Although boxes are loaned from Sky, they are likely to charge you to swap for a newer box.  (£49?)

I am just another Sky customer and my views are my own even if you don't like the answers

Unfortunately the upgrade cost might be £99 @Jameslenny  - although you may be able to negotiate - but unlikely to get one FOC

At least you'll get UHD / HDR as a bonus (assuming you want to pay the extra)
