Sky a installation for returning customer
I still have a dish and cable installation for sky q old instal ,thinking of returning to sky can I still get sky q boxes as a new customer. I'm currently a virgin media customer which is 1Gig broadband and I watch everything in 4k so sky broadband would not be sufficient for perfect picture clarity . Many thanks

Yes, so long as you've been away for a minimum of 18 months.

You don't have to use Sky broadband for Q - you can keep your VM broadband line.
Q is primarily a satellite system. 4K material would generally be via download which doesn't need blistering internet speeds.
Indeed, depending on the infrastructure in your location Sky may be able to provide fibre to your premises (which is effectively the same speed as VM).
Bear in mind the majority of source material is not natively 4K. (On Sky and VM)

UHD has a maximum data rate requirement of around 30Mbs. 'perfect picture clarity' is a function of the source material and the display panel, not ultra high speed broadband.
BT Halo 3+ Ultrafast FTTP (500Mbs), BT Smart Hub 2
