Yes, I am expecting the mini to link with the main box, but I get "I get is no ip address obtained", this also applies when I use the MR600 but it did work, but with the MR600 the apps played up.

Bizarre

I think what happens is the mini finds out about the network config (SSID and password) from the main box then tries to connect to it directly for its own dhcp address. Why it can't then pick one up... ???

This SKY Q system is doing my head in, to amuse myself, I have just turned the SR203 Hub off as I have done many times, reset the internet on the SKY Q main box, logged it onto the MR600 and eveything works including the Apps, so carried on with the SKY Q mini box, reset it and it now has found and logged onto SKY Q main box, it did look for an IP address, eveything works including the Apps. To really test the setup have turned the SR203 Hub back on, so far so good. I have the SR203 back on as there are other services going thro' it which I am not going to mess around with until I have a stable system. Will look on with interest.

Do not touch anything!!

hang on, did you say you had the SR203 and the MR600 both on at the same time? And both running dhcp servers?

As I said previously the SKY Q main and mini boxes are running thro' the  MR600 router now, I am going to see how this setup works out over the next week or so. But I have the SR203 hub switched on still as other systems run thro' it like the central heating control and I do not want to go thro' the game of the reprogramming everything to the MR600 and then reprogramming all of it back to the SR203.

Yeah ok but you should diasble the dhcp server on one of those unless they are serving different subnets (and physical networks because they will both happily respond to any requests they can see)

Re: Sky Q without phone line, but using a TP-Link ARCHER MR600 4G+ Cat6 AC1200 Wireless Dual router

For years I have had two / three networks running due in the first instant the Sky broadband was only 3 - 4 Mbps and fibre had not reached us yet so had a secondary system running on a 4g lte router, never been able to get the SKY Q system to work with a 4g lte router till just now with the MR600, so now trying to step up to a 5g router the X50 - 5g which I brought off Ebay which came complete with a prepaid 3 sim, but may have to change later to Archer NX210 but we will see.  But then at the moment I do have three networks running just for the fun of it and touch wood they seem to be behaving themselves.

As long as they are completely separate that's fine. Albeit the wifi has the potential to clash and affect throughput.

The "kids", sorry, the networks are playing nicely at the moment, but then do have quite a few networks around us from the neighbours so not a quiet area antway..
