Sky Q upgrade
I have had Sky Q since it was first released. Just upgraded to a UHD TV and realised my Q box isn't UHD despite the original unit being replaced about 6 months ago due to a HDD problem (and a (removed) poor response from Sky over that at the time).
Since I have Sky Ultimate and the Hd add on I thoughtI just needed to add the Sky UHD pack for£4 to my £46 current pack. But no - Sky retentions insisted I would also need to pay £99 for the*upgraded* Sky Q box!
Very silly of Sky. I have just cancelled the lot and will just use the smart TV /Netflix Premium / Apple TV 4k / built in FreeSat. Replace that (removed) Sky Q LNB for about a £10 (its easily accessible) for one that is FreeSat compatible and I still pocket a circa £30 a month saving.
See ya Sky!

Re: Sky Q upgrade
The LNB is compatible with Freesat 4k boxes so you don't have to change it...

But smart TVs with Freesat tuners built in aren't compatible, so an LNB change would be necessary.

That is indeed true. (The TV is unlikely to include recording features if that's important)
