Sky Q software issue
Recently ive started to have problems with my SkyQ box:
- Recorded Programmes freeze and the sound and picture locks up
- Sound drop outs, sometimes every couple of seconds
- TV channels sometimes when changed show only a black screen for a couple of seconds(Signal says it’s fine)
- Multi room drops off connection making watching in other room almost impossible.
- Recordings are suffering from "Software issue" which affects the playback in the form of stuttering image.
I have reset(turned off and on again) the box many but this does not change anything.

Re: Sky Q software issue
Probably a bit of a dumb question, but have you tried another HDMI lead or different HMDI port on the TV? Always a chance as well that the lead isn't fully seated into the socket on either end.
Worth getting the simple stuff sorted out and verified before trying to contact Sky for a replacement box.
Pete.

Re: Sky Q software issue
Thanks Pete, have not replaced HDMI but checked the connections, all good! Don't have any issues when using live TV, and the multi room issues refer to connection to main box!

Re: Sky Q software issue
Ok, good.
Another thought that sprang to mind is that the main box could be overheating. If it's been where it is for a good while, unplug it and inspect the ventilation openings for dust - possibly getting rid of some of the dust might help things.
