Sky Q remote won’t turn tv on

My Sky Q remote won't turn my tv on all of a sudden? Never had an issue turning it on before. But has now stopped. I have re-paired the remote and reset it and everything else. It controls the volume and will turn the tv off when you hold the power button. But you hold the power button on the remote to turn it on. The light on the remote lights up saying its 'sent' the signal. But the tv doesn't turn on anymore? Its an old polaroid tv. (P55FS0756A) And does turn on with the tv's original remote. Has always worked before but now stopped and unsure why?

I have also checked the tv settings for HDMI-CEC control is on and the HDMI control is on in my sky q box settings

As far as I can work out the remote led should only light when it is turning the tv off.

As your tv has previously worked correctly then something has changed.You could try the following:-

Short stab of remote power button to turn on Skyq and TV.

Has the tv turned on or is it still in standby?

If still in standby then turn tv on using the TV remote.

Check that Sky q is now showing on tv screen.

Press and hold the Q remote until led flashes red.

This should now turn off the Q box and the tv.

Now repeat switch on procedure with one short stab to turn on q box and tv together.

Have you tried pressing the Standby button (Amber led) on the front of the Q box?

If this turns the Q box on
With the Q box on with green led try completly resetting your Bluetooth remote.
Press and hold 7 & 9 together on the remote until it’s led flashes four times.
Then make sure that you are pointing your remote at the Q box and press 1 & 3 together until the led flashes and follow onscreen instructions to re- pair to TV.

I realise now that this is your TV set and not your Q box.

so many posters refer to their Q box as "my TV.

Tried this. Any single stab only turns the sky q box off. Tried turning the sky q box on from standby with tv also in standby and only the sky q box turns on. Attempted all different combinations of this and none of them work. Its very strange? Every other function works fine. Just doesn't turn the tv on. 
On my sky q mini in my room it all works fine still. Tv is turned on and off and controlled by the sky q remote. Just this tv that it has stopped working with. Cannot work out why as no settings have been changed

I ended up changing TV's and then it worked again. But never got to the bottom of what it was sadly. Someone did suggest turning the power to the tv and sky box off for like an hour and seeing if it wiped its memory and then that would work again. But I never got round to trying

i've had several similar problems with my sky stream puck devices.

What I had to do in the end is going and doing a factory set under settings this fixed everything including voice control,  turning TV on and off etc.,  the tell tale sign was that when you went in to try and pair your remote for the TV there was no TV models coming up under enter your model,  this I understood that the database wasn't updated on the puck, so therefore the only option was to do a factory reset.

This can be found under settings – system management – reset and updates – factory reset.
