I'm being told to replace my two sky+ boxes with Sky Q. I'm not sure how this is going to work with my broadband setup. eg both boxes are in different parts of the house and not near the router. Does Sky Q work OK with range extenders etc? Do I need a new dish?

Hi @Jeremy+Y-E Who is telling you to replace your Sky+HD boxes? If they are working, then there is no need. In answer to your question, Sky provide boosters to bridge the gap and only your LNB on the dish needs changing during the install.

hi @Jeremy+Y-E
You may, wish to read some notes I have made for people considering switching from SKY +/HD to SKY Q
Mini boxes will not connect to any 3rd party wifi & instead would use a wifi generated by the main box -if needed SKY will supply boosters
As @MightyQuinn alludes to, although SKY are sending out various letters about no longer issuing softaware updates this does not mean the SKY HD boxes will stop working - they have not had updates for a long time
Any further questions, do not heistate to ask

Re: Sky Q query
Hi. thanks for your reply. Letter and other messages from sky saying no further software updates for sky +; already the streamed sky sports+ channels not available on sky +. 'Free' installation offer. I'm trying to get some technical info from sky about boosters etc. but very hard to contact them. But thanks for your advice.
