Sky Q connectivity issue

Looking for help with SkyQ box issue.

We've recently moved away from Sky Broadband but still use Sky TV through a skyQ box.

I've connected the box via WiFi to my new provider, however over the last week it's lost its signal multiple times and can't reconnect. The only way to reconnect is to reset and go through the process again of selecting the WiFi and keying in the password (which by way of feedback to sky, is really difficult as you have to scroll through upper/lower case letters, numbers, special characters. Takes ages with a secure password!).

The SkyQ box is in the same room as my new router. The router gets upwards of 500mbps upload and 300mbps download on a test. We haven't had any issues with any other devices in the house since changing broadband providers.

Please can someone offer me some help/advice as it's making me want to leave Sky TV at the moment, and I actually quite like Sky TV (other than the password issue above!).

thanks

Is it close enough to connect via Ethernet?

I am just another Sky customer and my views are my own

Re: Sky Q connectivity issue

Ethernet is my last resort as the cable would be visible/messy. The router is literally 2 meters from the SkyQ box so can't understand why the SkyQ box is dropping all the time.

Re: Sky Q connectivity issue

I feel your pain...
I was looking for answers to this very same problem myself.
SkyQ falls off our network almost on a daily basis. All other equipment can stay on indefinitely - including the two main TV's can still access Netflix/Prime/BBC i player ITV X etc etc...
It makes me wonder if SkyQ is worth the aggravation as well. It's not like I'm paying over £120 / month for decent equipment (Always failing) or any support (Try contacting Sky !).
And it's always "There is something wrong with YOUR internet connection..." - No, only the crappy SkyQ boxes have the problem, why should I be told to "Re-boot your router" every day when everything else in the house hasn't disconnected ?
I hope Sky personnel read these posts and realise how annoyed people are with what must be a common problem.
