Sky Q box not found

Hi...havinf issues connecting my devices to the Sky box.  The app itself works Ok on all the dvices but if i want to download or view any recordings it comes up with an error message..."Sky Q box not found". 

Been on the help line for over 40 minutes, got transferred 3 times to topic'experts'   Nothing. 

 

Done all the usual stuff, rebooted Mac, rebooted sky box, deleted app on iPad etc etc...

 

The mini boxes work fine.  Its just the devices...Mac, iPad and iPhone etc. 

 

Any ideas?

Often, the cause if you are getting that error message 'Sky Q box not found' from the Sky Go app,  it is because you do not currently have a multiscreen subscription active or that multiscreen has recently been cancelled.?

Thanks but the mini boxes work. 
Surely they wouldn't work with the multi screen sub was off.

Yes, so you have multiscreen.

 

Sounds like you have tried most things.

But work through the restarts and rebooting your router as described in this Sky help article.

Sometimes a Sky Q box does lose the ability or a Sky Go device p/s lose their ability to connect.

After trying the above, even if done before and it's still not working, pop back for some further help.

Are they on the same subnet?

Yes...they are all on the same router...if thats what you mean?

 

It is a 3rd party router.   i just think sky rig the box to make it a pain if you dont use their own router!

No, if both devices are on the same subnet that can broadcast it should just work.  (A post the other day had 3rd party extenders blocking it)

I have the same problem - just started happening a few days ago which incidentally coincided with a software update so I can only think this has broken the functionality. - Interestingly you can still schedule recordings and trigger downloads from Sky Go so it must be in communication with the SKy Q box despite the message when you try and view recordings. As to a solution I guess will have to wait for another software update.
