@Newell1974

Hopefully you've completely disconnected it.

You will need to contact Sky to arrange a replacement. They will no doubt want to examine the damaged box for a potential fire risk.

The current methods for contacting Sky are below and depending on your reason for making contact some methods will be more appropriate than others……

🟦 📞 Customer Services by dialling 150 (free) from either a Sky mobile or a Sky Talk landline. The forum doesn’t allow the display of other numbers. Other official numbers to Sky from the UK are 03 numbers which are normally inclusive from non Sky phones.

All calls will start automated which may offer you the online help route or try to send you here to the forum. Stay on the line as long as possible and saying nothing when asked the reason for the call sometimes helps being put in the queue for an agent.

🟦 online help via this link
https://www.sky.com/help
If necessary a number may be visible at the end of the correct help flow.

🟦 Sky Assistant 💬 should also be available via
https://www.sky.com/help
for most service issues and gives you 24/7 help and a quick response. It should provide you with multiple choice options based on your problem and will provide troubleshooting steps to fix any service issues.

🟦 Social Media You can also get in touch via the messaging services on: Facebook, Instagram, or X (links at the bottom of the forum page).

🟨Note ~ ROI customers If you’re in the ROI make sure the flag in the bottom right of the link is showing the correct flag and change if required. The Sky Ireland phone lines are closed at a weekend.

@SimonLarkin

You'll need to call Sky to report it. I think Sky will want the box back in order to examine it thoroughly.

Re: Mini box melted

@Daniel0210 you replied to me and this has happened in Nov to someone else. This box is a fire hazard and should not be sold!

@SimonLarkin

So did you report it to Sky? Have they made arrangements for its return for examination?

Re: Sky Q box Mini

@Daniel0210 is this actually an official sky contact page? You've replied to another user where this box has started an electrical fire. I'm shocked it still allowed to be sold!!!

@SimonLarkin No this is  not contacting Sky's customer services on here, this is a customer to customer forum where customers help each other.

Just to even things out I've had my 2 mini boxes since 2016 with no problems but that doesn't excuse that 2 have overheated and melted

I may be a Sky Superuser but I am still just a Sky customer

@SimonLarkin

You aren’t contacting Sky here. This is a customer ▶️ customer discussion forum where we try to help other customers.

My mini box has been in situ since November 2019 and is fine.

Concerning as it is that two have had a problem, considering how many mini boxes are out there it's a very small percentage but both still need examining by Sky.

Q Mini boxes have been 'sold' (loaned) since February 2016. Someone would probably have noticed by now.

hi @SimonLarkin

Although it has no bearing on your specific problem, please may I ask is that a SKY Puck rather than SKY Q mini box.

AFAIK SKY Q mini boxes are all the same & are more rectangular in dimensions rather than Square  - SKY Stream/Pucks are square in dimensions

It is indeed a stream puck.

@SimonLarkin Where is the puck normaly located?   The Pucks also only takev a 5v input, has there been a power surge to cause this?

Like you I'm a customer here, Sky Employees are clearly identified as such.
