Sky Q apps not working

Hello,

The problem I have is that almost all the apps on my Sky Q will not work. (Prime, Netflix, Sky Sports+, iPlayer etc. ) They will start but after a short while they will display various error codes - in other words they will not connect. Oddly, YouTube works fine.

I've tried the usual stuff, restarting the box and router. Also refreshing the apps from that secret menu.

All these apps work fine on other devices - phones, tablets and TVs.

Has anyone any idea what this issue could be?

Thank you.

Hi @CAA2

Try a Reset Settings in the Q box hidden menu.
To enter hidden menu press Home and navigate down to Settings but do not select Settings.
With Settings highlighted press 0 0 1 Select.
Only Carry out the first Reset (Reset Settings) as the other two will wipe all recordings.
After the Reset you will have to re pair your Bluetooth remote If you use one.
If you cannot switch the Q box on with the remote after the Reset press the Standby button (Amber led) on the front of the box.
To re pair the remote press 1 & 3 together on the remote and follow onscreen instructions to re pair.

Make sure that you are pointing the remote at the Q box when you press 1 & 3 together.

Resetting the settings will also reset:

Audio visual settings, such as picture resolution and HDMI control
Settings changed within the hidden engineer menu, include LNB type. If on a communal dish you need to reset the LNB to SCR in the hidden menu. After changing the LNB type you need to reboot the Q box.

Re: Sky Q apps not working

Thanks for your reply, however the steps didn't make a difference. I can download episodes of shows fine but almost no off the apps will work. Very strange. Does anyone have any other ideas what could be causing this?

Thank you.

Could be a poor wifi signal or interference by the SkyQ box.

Downloads will work as they will download even if the wifi is poor - they just take longer.

But is a stream needs a certain amount then you may see problems.

There is a speed test on the netflix app which will tell you the speed your SkyQ is receiving.
