Why can't I disable the "watch from start" banners? They're annoying.
No children in my house, why can't I disable PIN for age restricted films?

@Random+User with the "Watch from the start banners" you can press the dismiss button on your remote to remove them
With the Pin number if you are trying to watch a film that is age restricted before the watershed then Sky have to follow the Offcom rules relating to mandatory daytime protection

Because they are part of the core system design.

I am a Sky customer and not a Sky employee, both of which are irrelevant, further to this, I do not believe another customer would use a phrase like "Because they are part of the core system design". Seems to always be very aggressive responses to the question, how do I disable watch from start pop up banner, almost as if someone is trying to push an agenda. I suspect a lot of the responses on these forums who say they are not a Sky employee, may actually be the opposite of that. Customers pay a lot of money for Sky, that is largely propped up by other streaming service subscriptions these days. When a customer asks to have control over a basic setting, please remember there are other choices, or even cancellation of contract, please respect our right to know what we want and what we don't!

Incorrect. All the responses on this thread are from fellow customers. Please see this link that explains that a Superuser and Superuser+ are customers not staff

When the BBC channels (& later UKTV channels) got the Watch from start banner many people came here to find out how to disable and requests were made to SKy to have an option to disable.
(It had been on many SKY channels for a long time but only shows when content is available to download which is less than with the BBC iPlayer)
Unfortunately nobody here knows just quite how much feedback SKY got but we do know that SKY are not very keen on user configurable options.. I think it can take an awful lot of feedback to get them to change the UI
From what I can tell, many people do use the watch the start option but many do find it intrusive even though a simple press of the dismiss button will remove it before it times out & disappears automatically
Personally I the ability to configure the watch from start to be be on or off is one that would please many people - although the pop up does not bother me I don;t use it & would trun it off myself
Regarding the PIN that is due to showing programming during daytime before the appropriate watershed & the somewhat out of date legislation that was introduced before Streaming etc and the change of viewing habits- we do just recommend people set it to something like 1111 to speed up entry
BTW as pointed out, we are just other customers, unless specifically marked as SKY employees.
Of course, like any other forums, people will respond as they wish and sometimes may appear blunt but we are, primarily just trying to help others

Think what you like, but I wouldn't work for Sky 'for all the tea in China' to quote a very old phrase!
