Sky Q and New LNB

Hello all

Firstly apologies for the length of this preamble. Just want to give as much info as possible.

I am currently on Sky+ HD and my box is failing, so time for an upgrade. I have been with Sky for many decades. Several years ago I was having viewing problems and it transpired it was my dish that was at fault. A Sky engineer came but refused to replace the dish as it was only accessable by standing on our flat roof. (Please note..this flat roof is frequently accessed by myself or my wife to clean windws and also a year or so back  our tiled roof had to be replaced which had many scaffolders and roofers crossing over the roof for 2 weeks without problems?)

I contacted an independant satellite installer and he put a new dish up, brand new wiring (Sky Q ready) and got my Sky + up and running.

So here's the problem.....if I ring Sky for a Sky Q upgrade they will send a Sky installer who will need to fit a new LNB. From the previous Sky engineer visit I believe he will refuse to go onto my flat roof. I have already spoken to the same independant  installer I used before and he is happy to fit me a Sky Q LNB.

I am hoping some present or ex Sky emplyees might read this or any knowledgeable Sky folk

Here's the question...Will Skys own Sky Q installer be happy to fit the Sky Q box in my lounge using my engineers LNB installation?

It appears that their instructions are not to install in a location which they cannot subsequently access for maintenance.

With a flat roof it's partly about safety, and partly to avoid subsequent claims that the surface has been damaged and requires replacing.

@nanokem I'd say it's pretty much down to the mood of the engineer on the day.
