Sky Q Newbie Issues
I have, within the last couple of weeks 'upgraded' to Q from +HD. In the main I like the additonal/improved functionality but there are a couple of things that the +HD box did that the Q box does not, unless I am just unawares?
1. When accessing my planner to view recordings. On the +HD box I could press play and then select a time into the recording that I wanted the recording to start. For example, I could change the 'zero' to 'five minutes' whereby the recording would start at that point and not right at the beginning. Very useful when watching a film recorded from Sky Cinema when you know the actual film does not comemnce until five minutes after the recording starts. With Q I have to fast forward from 'zero' which even at the fastest speed is still slower.
2. TV Guide. On +HD I could press '6' to take me straight to the cinema section, '7' to go direct to the Sports section, and so on. With Q I have to scroll down to the category section (i.e. cinema) and then select it before I am in the relevent section. Again, just takes longer.

A number of ways.
Either use the voice remote - 'Go to xx minutes'.
Use the fast forward (repeatedly will scale to 30x).
Use the up arrow and then the right arrow to fast scroll to xx minutes.

hi @MrMark1
As @PandJ2020 says
The easiest is via voice control :- handy controls are :
Skip nn minutes
Go To nn minutes
Back nn minutes
You can use hours, minutes & seconds or mix e.g. Go to 1hour 15 minutes
Skip nn minutes is very handy for adverts and you get used to the length on regular used channels (Many are around the 4 minute mark)
You can also say Go To Start
Voice control in general is very useful - see
https://www.sky.com/help/articles/sky-q-voice-control-commands
Unfortunately the remote shortcuts you used on HD aren't available on Q & yes some things thus take more keypresses (like restarting your last played recording IIRC - it's a long time since I had an HD box)
Some other things aren't available like Reminders, Bookmarks & slow motion in recordings
BTW If you haven;t set them up I do recommend setting up your most used channels as favourites (needs to be done on each box)
