Sky Q Mini - no 1080p on Optoma Projector
Hi,
Had this issue for a while now but it's time to resolve it! I've got a Yamaha amp, with the following connections:
- Sky Q Mini
- Apple TV 4K
- BluRay player
The Apple TV and BluRay happily do 1080p through the projector, but the poor old Sky Q Mini simply can't for some reason. Even if I connect it directly via the amp - projector HDMI cable, if I select 1080p on the Sky box, the screen goes black then times out and reverts back to 1080i?
I have lived with it for a while but our other Mini box does 1080p into a Samsung tv no problem?
Any advice appreciated!

If 1080i works then what's the issue? Either the amp or TV will de interlace instead of the mini.

Re: Sky Q Mini - no 1080p on Optoma Projector
It should be able to display 1080p. It cannot, and will not.
Thats the problem. Can I live with 1080i? Yes. But it would be nice to know why it can't do 1080p.

Re: Sky Q Mini - no 1080p on Optoma Projector
IIRC the Q output is 1080P50 - some projectors do not support this.
Check the specs, if only 1080P25 (or 30) is supported then that will be the reason.
