Sky Q Mini Hotspots

Hi everyone!

Please does anyone know how I can enable WiFi hotspots from Sky Q Minis? I have found the setting to enable hotspot from the main Sky Q box, but the same setting is not available on any of my Sky Q Minis.

Are Sky Q Minis not capable of hotspots, or are the automatically enabled when the main Sky Q box's hotspot is enabled?

I do not currently have broadband with Sky, but I don't think this makes a difference anymore.

Thank you.

Re: Sky Q Mini Hotspots

Thank you very much for your reply. I read that link before I enabled WiFi hotspot on my main Sky Q box. But, the same menu does not appear in the Sky Q Mini boxes. Any other suggestions please? Thank you.

@RogerG2 by enabling wifi hotspots on your main box should enable the hotspots on your mini boxes you don't activate them on the mini boxes. As your broadband is not Sky then the hotspots will only be on the 2.4Ghz frequency

@RogerG2

Just in case you have any doubts as indicated in the link & mentioned by the others there is only one toggle which is only on the main box, which switches it on or off for all boxes

Others have reported they have noticed little difference in their premises when they switched on the hotspots so it may not be the benefit that people may be seeking

Re: Sky Q Mini Hotspots

Thank you to you all for taking the time to reply, I appreciate it.

For me, turning on WiFi hotspot on my main Sky Q box has made a small difference, particularly to a video doorbell which is closer to the Sky Q box than it is to the router.

Because of this difference, I wanted the Sky Q Minis to act as hotspots too, but I guess they already are now that the main Sky Q box is.

Thanks again, great advice.

Re: Sky Q Mini Hotspots

I don't even get the wifi hotspot option on my main sky q box??

I have a 2tb sky q box and a sky q mini, but neither show the wifi hotspot option?

I'm not sure if this matters, but I recently moved house and now have sky broadband (at my previous house it was non-sky broadband). Do I need to reset something? The main box is connected to the broadband via ethernet.

@Petruchio with you having Sky broadband now then there is no option as the main box and  mini boxes automatically act as hotspots
