Sky Q Mini Box connection

Hi All,

I know this has probably been asked many times but here goes.

I have Sky Q tv which is connected via ethernet to my Virgin router.

The mini box is located on the 3rd floor and keeps dropping connection to the main box. It was connected to the main box via the Sky wireless network.

Called customer services and all they have done is sent me a new mini box and told me to contact virgin about the signal.

Surely its an issue with the main box network not my router? Would a signal booster help?

Thanks

@DaveDerby

Sorry to hear about that, while we are all customers on here and can't access your account, I'll try to help as best as I can.

Firstly, please make sure you have tried the troubleshooting steps on the following help article. https://www.sky.com/help/articles/sky-q-permanent-connectivity-problems

If the issue still persists, I would get in touch with Virgin Media to see if they could send out a Wifi Booster as it could be a signal issue given the mini box is on the 3rd floor.

If you ever move your broadband to Sky this may also help as then your Sky Q boxes act as wifi boosters. You may be able to get a discount on Sky Broadband as a TV customer.

If you've found this helpful, I'd really appreciate you liking this post and marking it as a solution.

Let me know if you have any other questions, additionally you can find contact info for Sky if needed after following the troubleshooting steps on that help article.

Thanks!
