Sky Q Hard Drive Error

My Sky Q keeps freezing and showing a hard drive error. Frequent turning on and off the power for 30 seconds isn't fixing the problem. Also, seeing a connection error occasionally when the router is fine.

If you do need a new box remember to remove the viewing card from the faulty box before it disappears into the back of the couriers van and accept any new power cable DPD deliver with the replacement box in case it's different to the one you have.

Thank you. This was very useful. I've ordered a new SkyQ box. Just waiting for a date.

Could I ask if the courier is able to assist with taking the card out of the box and disconnecting. I am elderly and have amputated hand so would find this physically very difficult.

Unlikely I'm afraid. They are on a tight schedule. They will be expecting the box to be disconnected and by the front door with the card removed. They then leave the replacement box in its place (they don't set it up).

 

Perhaps ask a family member, friend or neighbour to assist you.
