Sky Mini not connecting to Sky Q

I have been having connection issues between the Sky Q and mini. The Sky Q was connected by wifi, the Mini by ethernet cable and I had a Sky Booster on BT Wifi.

 

I have now changed to Zzoom Fibre and added a Deco X50 wifi 6 Mesh and the Sky Mini now loses connection to the Sky Q.

 

After some MR104 errors I have removed the Sky Booster and both Q and Mini are now ethernet connected directly to Deco hubs but the mini still drops out and reports a connection issue with the Sky Q box even though the internet is very strong and ethernet connected.

 

How does the Sky Q communicate to the Sky Mini?

Should I turn off the Wifi connection in both Sky Q and Mini via 0,0,1 select?

If I turn off wifi on both Sky Q and Mini how will they communicate as they are quite far apart?

Hi @WoodyMMIX 

As you have both Q boxes connected by Ethernet to the same Network you can then switch off all Q box WiFi.

Start with main Q box and first carry out a Network reset with the Ethernet connected.
Network Reset found in Q box Home - Settings - Setup - Network.
Highlight Status and then select Reset on the right hand side. Select connect wired to non Sky Router. Do not carry out any WPS and just wait for the box to connect. It may take a couple of minutes. If it does not connect there is an issue with the Ethernet connection.
As soon as it connects go into the Q box hidden menu and turn off WiFi.

To enter hidden menu press Home and navigate down to Settings but do not select Settings.
With Settings highlighted press 0 0 1 Select.
Go to Network to turn off both bands of WiFi. Confirm before exit.

Repeat the network reset on any minis in the Mini Home menu with the Ethernet connected. Again do not do any WPS and just wait for it to connect.
Once it is connected go into the mini hidden menu (same procedure as above) and turn off both bands of WiFi. Confirm before exit.

Great. I'll try that. 

How will the Sky Q communicate with the Sky Mini when the Wi-Fi is turned off? They are quite far apart.....

You said you'd connected them via ethernet to Deco nodes - they'll communicate through that wifi mesh (though they will think it's ethernet)

Oh - I didnt know they could do that.
