Sky Booster Box if changing Broadband

I have a question regarding broadband and the Sky wifi booster in my house.  Currently I am with Sky for Broadband and TV and the engineer installed a little white box with three green lights on it to boost the signal in one of our rooms.

 

I was never quite clear if this box is to boost the wifi or the TV signal or both.

 

Anyway, if I change my broadband provider away from Sky, but I keep Sky TV, will this box become useless and I'll need to install an off the shelf booster?

 

Edit:  Also - my miniboxes are quite far away from the main Sky Q box and the router (currently Sky) is physically in between them.  Does this also mean I'll hvae issues with my TV signal if I don't use Sky router anymore.

 

(I am already aware that I will need to program my Sky Q and miniboxes manually as wifi access  points if I change Broadband providers).
