Signal Issues (South Wales)
Hi folks,
Anyone else having some kind of SkyQ signal issues in the South Wales area?
Seems really bizarre - some channels have absolutely nothing. Some channels will work for 15-30 seconds then disappear for a minute. Then come back. Some don't work at all.
I can try some other channels - come back to the partially working one and it's totally dead 😂
I've already booked an engineer for like two weeks time 🫠 but just wondering if it's a known issue impacting a few others.
I do have a suspicion that it might be the coax got damaged when a builder was putting in new windows last weekend - but it seems only now it's causing a problem. (Maybe they've just gotten saturated with water over the last few days?)
Thanks! 👋🏻😊

Hiya 👋🏻
Just the generic
"This channel is currently affected by a problem with your satellite signal" and saying to press the ? button.
Checking the signal, both are showing at 0, even when we get flashes of TV coming though.

@Jetters
With a “no satellite signal” message, check that the connections from the Sky dish going into the back of your Sky Q box are still finger tight. Otherwise it’s very likely either;
▫️a dish misalignment,
▫️a failing LNB (on the arm of the dish),
▫️water getting into the cabling
so check the troubleshooting on this link
https://www.sky.com/help/articles/sky-tv-no-satellite-signal-sky-q
It may then give you the opportunity to arrange an engineer. If it doesn’t you’ll need to contact Sky to book an engineer appointment.
If you are connected to a communal dish you need to liaise directly with your building management company or landlord who will have their approved engineers to contact direct.
It’s worth mentioning that:
🔹 a misalignment is not necessarily something that will be visible to the naked eye and could only affect one or two channels (amongst the first to be affected may be TNT or GB News),
🔹 wind and rain can affect the satellite signal and following adverse weather wait times for an engineer will probably be significantly longer.
🔹a Sky Q box requires a periodic 'Keep alive' signal that is delivered via the satellite so if that isn’t received the box will close down until the satellite signal is restored.

Re: Signal Issues (South Wales)
Yeah I've already booked an engineer - just thought I'd check in case anyone else had any issues too 🙂↕️
Done all the usual, followed the guides. Guessing that it's not an area issue, so just will have to wait it out 😅
Thanks for your time! 🙏🏻

Re: Signal Issues (South Wales)
No, satellite signal issues are specific to an address not an area.
