Re: Satellite signal problems

It's a 'No satellite signal' message on certain channels. I found one or two channels that do work, oldly enough channel 5 is fine, i think someone else mentioned they had the same above. TNT sports 1 is also working.

@jb1821  You can work through the steps here https://www.sky.com/help/home/sky-tv/sky-tv-q/fixing-sky-q/fixing-live-tv/no-satellite-signal/articl...it should allow you to book an engineer at the end

Re: Satellite signal problems

I get 'no satellite signal' on Sky Witness and Sky Atlantic. Other channels seem fine. Don't understand this

@Michelle45

Whenever a “no satellite signal” message is displayed firstly check that the connections from the Sky dish going into the back of your Sky Q box are still finger tight. Also check out the troubleshooting on this link
https://www.sky.com/help/articles/sky-tv-no-satellite-signal-sky-q
It may then give you the opportunity to arrange an engineer to check the alignment of your dish.

A misalignment is not necessarily something that will be visible to the naked eye and could only affect one or two channels as you've seen. If you’re on a communal dish you may initially need to liaise with your landlord or building management company.

Re: Satellite signal problems

Having a complete mare with no signal for about a week now. It was pixelating a little to begin with but seemed to sort itself out. Mornings for some reason are worse than evenings. Some channels are more viewable than others. Some are completely blacked out with no signal. It's everyday now.

Done all the checks etc and nothing is wrong. It could be atmospherics but it's not as if there is a website you can check if your area is effected. Saying that, the weather is pretty normal, not too hot or cold, no rain for ages, no high winds. I have a few trees that are pretty tall now about 100  feet away, but they have had their leaves in bloom for a month now and I didn't have an issue a month ago.

I did have an issue where sky apologised for freezing the box one night recently. There engineers were doing stuff remotely that caused the issue.

I don't know if it's connected or not. I don't want to pay for someone to come out.

Re: Satellite signal problems

If you're getting the No Satellite Signal message it's not related to the recent fault and you will need an engineer visit to check the dish alignment. There is no cost for this.

If you follow the steps at https://www.sky.com/help/articles/sky-tv-no-satellite-signal-check-q it should give you the option to book an engineer at the end.

Re: Satellite signal problems

I have noticed in the 'settings'  the signal stregth is 70 and the quality is 40 when the picture is ok.

Then it changes up and down until both are at 0 and there is no signal at all.

If the dish was out of alignment then I would not be able to attend attain 70 and 40 at any point would I?

I follwed the steps to call out an engineer to the point of booking one but it doesn't say that it is free of charge or what price it is.

I don't want to book one until it's confirmed to be free. It would be handy if they state this at the beginning.

@Dazzle1

Engineer visits by Sky engineers are not an additional charge.
